Privacy policy

This page explains what data the justKowalski.pl blog collects, why, and how long it is kept. I try to collect as little as possible.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Krzysztof Kowalski, the author of the blog. For anything related to your data, write to kowalski@justkowalski.pl.

What I collect and why

Contact form

A message sent through the form on the About page goes to my email inbox and is saved in the blog's admin panel. It contains your name, email address, subject, message and the date. I use it only to reply and to continue the conversation (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Technical data

The server that hosts the blog keeps logs with technical details of each visit, such as IP address, date, the page opened and browser type. They are used to keep the site secure and to fix errors.

Cookies and browser storage

The blog does not use advertising or analytics cookies and does not track you across other websites. It sets no cookies for readers at all. Cookies are used only when logging in to the blog's admin panel.

  • Recently read stories. A list of the last few dozen stories you opened is kept only in your browser's storage (localStorage) and is used to suggest similar articles. It is never sent to the server. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
  • YouTube videos. Some stories show a thumbnail instead of a video. The player from youtube-nocookie.com loads only after you click it. From that moment Google's privacy policy applies.

The travel map, fonts and scripts are served from the blog's own server, without third-party providers.

Who your data is shared with

Data is stored on servers run by the hosting company LH.pl, which processes it on my behalf. I do not sell data or share it for marketing. When I reply to a message, I use ordinary email.

How long data is kept

  • Contact form messages: for as long as the conversation lasts, then no longer than 12 months.
  • Server logs: for a short period set by the hosting configuration.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Just write to the address above. You can also lodge a complaint with the Polish data protection authority (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych).
